Kennel Cough
Tracheobronchitis is commonly known as the Kennel Cough. Which is characterized by the inflammation and congestion of the upper respiratory tract of the animal infected by the disease. The appearance and sounding of the upper respiratory tract is very terrible and one can easily make out that the dog is suffering from some ailment.
Kennel Cough is caused by the virus vectors such as canine distemper virus, canine para-influenza virus and some other canine infecting viruses. Kennel Cough is also caused by the bacteria known by the name of Bordetella bronchiseptica. The Dogs live in the kennels where they are in the close proximity of the other animals which leads to the infection getting transmitted with the help of the virus or bacteria. The most common symptoms of the Kennel Cough is vommitting due to some energy consuming activity by the animals. Other common symptoms shown by the dogs infected by the Kennel Cough is Coughing, Sneezing, Snorting and fever. The incubation period(The period required by the virus to fully develop and show the symptoms of the disease) for the virus is around three weeks.
Kennel Cough is highly contagious and the symptoms can be seen for the maximum period of 2 months. One of the main precautions which had to be taken for the dog is to see that they don't come close contact of the infected animal. if the symptoms of the Kennel Cough are prominent then take your pet dog to the veterinary doctor for check-up and treatment.
