Causes of Kennel Cough
Kennel Cough Causes:
The Kennel Cough is a disease which affects the respiratory system of dogs. It can be caused by several different airborne bacteria such as Bordetella bronchiseptica and also by viruses such as canine parainfluenza or a mycoplasma (an organism that is somewhere between a virus and bacteria). Typically, more than a few of these pathogens must attack the dog at the same time to trigger the disease. Such an attack is more likely when a dog spends time in a small room in close contact with many other dogs who have these infections. Dogs that attend dog shows, who travel frequently, or dogs which leave in day care are at higher risk of developing kennel cough that dogs who spend at home most of the time.
